Deep Purple
The signature deep purple. Grown in our own production at 3,200 meters altitude in Cayambe, Ecuador.
The dark anchor of our purple range. Deep Purple carries a wine-dark violet with a silvered lilac edge on each petal — where Ocean Song holds the true lavender middle, Deep Purple drops the tone into shadow, and the two-tone petal keeps the dark from reading flat in photographs. When a palette needs purple with actual weight, this is the rose carrying it.
The grow story
Grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, high in the Andes. Saturated purples are pigment-hungry: the plant has to build anthocyanin, and it builds more under stress. Cold mountain nights and fierce equatorial light are exactly that stress — at this altitude the violet develops a depth that lowland greenhouses cannot push their plants to produce. Each harvest is cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of leaving the block.

Best for
Jewel-tone weddings, fall and winter event work, moody editorial palettes, and any design where lavender alone reads too soft. Deep Purple is the rose designers use to give a purple story a bottom note — one bunch anchors an arrangement that would otherwise float. 60 cm covers most centerpiece work; 70 cm scales to ceremony structures. Build the rest of the cool palette from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Ocean Song (cool lavender) for the tonal purple gradient
- Cool Water (silvery lavender) to lift the top of the palette
- Playa Blanca (creamy white) for high-contrast relief
- Limonium for airy purple filler that echoes the tone
- Eucalyptus Baby Blue for cool silver foliage
Care notes
Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative. Store at 34–38°F. Like all purples, notably ethylene-sensitive — keep strictly clear of ripening fruit and run an ethylene blocker on any hold past two days. The silvered petal edge is natural variegation, not damage; brief new staff before they cull good stems.
What working pros say
"Deep Purple is what I reach for when the client says plum and the mood board is all velvet. It holds that wine tone under dim reception light where most purples go black."
— Event floral designer, Mid-Atlantic (13 yrs experience)
"The two-tone petal does the work for me. One variety reads like two in an arrangement, so my recipe count drops and the piece still looks layered."
