The designer's peach. Kahala is one of the most requested garden roses in the trade for a reason: a 70-petal bloom in a sandy, sun-faded peach with a cream reverse — the antique tone that Quicksand hints at, delivered in a full old-world garden form. It opens slowly into a deep cup of layered apricot-cream that looks pulled from a Dutch still life, and it has anchored more neutral-toned wedding palettes than almost any bloom of the past decade.

The grow story

Grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, in the high Andes. Kahala's muted tone is a precision product — too much heat and the peach flushes garish, too little light and it grays. The equatorial Andes hold the balance: cold nights mute the pigment toward antique while twelve hours of fierce daily sun keeps the warmth alive underneath. The slow cycle builds all seventy petals to travel weight. Cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of harvest.

Best for

Boho and desert-toned weddings, fall events, neutral editorial palettes, and any brief built around "muted," "antique," or "toffee" tones. Kahala is the focal bloom that ties champagne, rust, and cream recipes together. 50 cm for the low, lush centerpiece work it usually leads; 60 cm for bouquets. Assemble the neutral story from our wholesale rose range.

Pairs beautifully with

  • Quicksand (champagne taupe) for the standard-form tonal partner
  • Shimmer (peach garden rose) for a brighter peach alongside
  • Candlelight (cream garden rose) for a two-focal garden story
  • Salma (salmon peach-pink) to warm the recipe
  • Spray Rose Peach to echo the tone at a smaller scale

Care notes

Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative, then hold at 34–38°F. Kahala opens over three to four days and the antique tone deepens as it does — schedule delivery accordingly. The dense head wants sleeve support until the build. Moderately ethylene-sensitive; standard cooler discipline applies.

What working pros say

"Kahala is on every mood board I receive. Clients don't know its name, but they all point at it — that dusty peach is the wedding color of the era."

— Wedding floral designer, Austin (12 yrs experience)

"It's the rose that makes my recipes look expensive. One layer of Kahala over standard stems and the whole piece moves up a price tier."

— Event florist, Salt Lake City (9 yrs experience)
