Ocean Song
The signature soft lavender.Breeder: Schreurs (Netherlands). Grown in our own production at 3,200 meters altitude in Cayambe, Ecuador.
A true cool lavender — not a pink pretending. Ocean Song sits in the rare band of the rose spectrum between Cool Water's silvery haze and Deep Purple's wine darkness, and it is the variety designers mean when a mood board says "lavender roses" without qualification.
The grow story
Bred by Schreurs in the Netherlands and grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador. Lavender pigment is fragile; heat bleaches it toward gray-pink within days. The high-altitude cold-night cycle is what holds Ocean Song's tone true from harvest through the event. We cut at a tighter stage than warm-climate growers can afford to, which buys the variety its margin of vase life. Cut, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours.

Best for
Spring weddings, lilac-and-gray palettes, garden-party events, and any design built around "something unexpected" in the rose slot. Ocean Song carries 50 and 60 cm lengths — it is a bouquet and centerpiece rose by nature, not a pedestal rose, and the 50 cm grade prices that work efficiently. Round out the palette from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Cool Water (silvery lavender) for tonal lavender layering
- Violet Hill (pink-purple) to deepen the palette
- Playa Blanca (white) for crisp contrast
- Limonium for airy purple filler texture
- Eucalyptus Baby Blue for cool-toned foliage
Care notes
Re-cut at 45° under running water; hydrate in 95–100°F water with preservative. Store at 34–38°F and away from light when held more than two days — lavender tones fade under prolonged cooler lighting. Notably ethylene-sensitive, more than reds or whites: keep strictly clear of fruit and use an ethylene blocker for any extended hold.
What working pros say
"Lavender is the color clients ask for and the color that usually disappoints in real life. Ocean Song is the exception — it arrives looking like the Pinterest photo, and it still looks like it a week later."
— Event floral designer, Mountain West (11 yrs experience)
"I treat Ocean Song like produce — strict cooler discipline, no fruit anywhere near it. Respect that one rule and it outlasts every other lavender I've carried."
— Retail florist, Great Lakes region (9 yrs experience)
