The garden-style white. Playa Blanca packs 62 petals into a creamy, soft-white bloom that opens round and ruffled — where Mondial gives you the tailored spiral, Playa Blanca gives you the unstructured, just-picked look the organic-design movement runs on. Warmer than a stark white, softer than ivory, and dense enough to be the textural lead in an all-white recipe.

The grow story

Grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, in the high Andes. Sixty-two petals only work if every one of them has substance, and substance is an altitude product: the cold mountain nights slow the bloom so each layer thickens before the next forms, and the strong equatorial light keeps the cream tone clean instead of letting it gray. Each harvest is cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of leaving the block.

Best for

Garden-style and organic wedding work, all-white designs that need textural variety, and recipes where a true garden rose would blow the budget — Playa Blanca covers that visual slot at standard-rose economics. Strong in sympathy work, where the soft form reads gentler than a formal spiral. 50 cm for compote designs; 60 cm for hand-tied work. Layer the whites from our wholesale rose range.

Care notes

Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative, then hold at 34–38°F. Give the dense head two to three days to open for full garden effect. Whites telegraph every mark — handle by the stem, keep guard petals on until the build. Moderately ethylene-sensitive; standard cooler discipline applies.

What working pros say

"Playa Blanca is my garden-rose understudy. Once it's open nobody can tell it from a bloom three times the price, and it outlasts the real thing by a week."

— Wedding floral designer, Pacific Northwest (12 yrs experience)

"In all-white work you need shapes, not just color. Mondial gives me architecture, Playa Blanca gives me softness, and the two together read intentional."

— Studio florist, Southeast (9 yrs experience)
