Spray Rose Red
The signature deep cardinal red. Grown in our own production at 3,200 meters altitude in Cayambe, Ecuador.
Red, multiplied. Each spray rose stem branches into three to five crimson blooms — the saturated red of Freedom restated at boutonniere scale. Where a standard red rose makes one declarative statement, a red spray stem scatters the color through a design, filling the visual space between focal blooms and letting a red recipe breathe instead of reading as a solid wall.
The grow story
Grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, in the high Andes. A branching stem divides its resources across every bud, so weak growing conditions show up fast as pale, uneven sprays. The high-altitude cycle keeps all the blooms honest: cold nights bank pigment into each head equally, and the steady equatorial light brings the whole spray to color together rather than one bud at a time. Cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of harvest.

Best for
Boutonnieres and corsages for red-themed weddings, Valentine's accent work, holiday centerpieces, and any red recipe that needs a smaller echo of the focal color. Spray reds are also the efficient answer for cascading bouquets, where full-size heads get heavy fast. One bunch seeds an entire table program with red accents. Anchor the focals from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Freedom (valentine red) as the focal the spray echoes
- Hearts (red garden rose) for the romantic open form alongside
- Red Panther (black-shadowed crimson) to darken the range
- Spray Rose White for classic holiday contrast
- Hypericum for berry texture in the same warm register
Care notes
Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative, then hold at 34–38°F. Strip foliage below the water line — spray stems carry more leaf than standard roses and foul buckets faster. Buds open in sequence along the spray; for full color, give it two days. Moderately ethylene-sensitive.
What working pros say
"Boutonniere season, red spray is the whole job. One stem covers the groom and both dads, and the heads are exactly lapel-sized."
— Wedding florist, Kansas City (13 yrs experience)
"December I go through red spray by the box. Centerpieces, garland work, mantel pieces — it's the red that fits everywhere the big heads don't."
— Event floral designer, Boston (8 yrs experience)
