Hot Explorer
The signature magenta-leaning hot pink. Grown in our own production at 3,200 meters altitude in Cayambe, Ecuador.
Despite the name, this is not a red — Hot Explorer takes the big-headed build of its namesake Explorer and trades the garnet for an electric magenta-pink. Against Pink Floyd, the other heavyweight in our hot-pink slot, Hot Explorer runs a lighter petal count and opens noticeably faster, with a brighter, more neon read where Pink Floyd stays dense, velvety, and a half-shade deeper.
The grow story
Grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, high in the Andes. Magenta pigments are among the first to wash out under heat stress; the cold-night, intense-light cycle at this altitude does the opposite, packing color into thick petal tissue while the slow bloom keeps the head tight in transit. That is why a hot pink from our fields still reads electric on day ten instead of fading rose. Each harvest is cut, conditioned, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of leaving the block.

Best for
Fiesta and tropical palettes, quinceañeras, fashion-forward event work, and Valentine's alternatives for clients who find red predictable. The large open head covers area efficiently in installs. 60 cm is the workhorse; 70 cm earns its place in suspended and arch work where the color has to carry distance. Cool it down or heat it up from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Explorer (garnet red) for a saturated red-pink gradient
- Pink Floyd (deep hot pink) for layered hot-pink density
- Mondial (white) for maximum-contrast modern work
- Hydrangea White for volume that lets the pink shout
- Scabiosa for airy texture between the big heads
Care notes
Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative. Store at 34–38°F. Hot Explorer opens faster than Pink Floyd — order it closer to event day, or hold at the cold end of the range to slow it. Moderately ethylene-sensitive; keep away from ripening fruit.
What working pros say
"Hot Explorer is the pink that reads from the back of the room. I use Pink Floyd when I want depth and Hot Explorer when I want voltage — they're not interchangeable."

"It opens big and fast, which I plan around: in Thursday, designed Friday, showstopper Saturday. The color never dulls on me inside that window."
