A bright yellow head licked with orange at the petal tips — flame caught early, not late. The distinction inside our warm trio matters: High & Magic burns its edge all the way to crimson, while High & Yellow Flame stops at a clean tangerine orange and never crosses into red. The result reads sunnier and younger — daybreak instead of dusk — and it keeps a yellow-led palette from tipping autumnal.

The grow story

Grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, where the Andes meet the equator. The orange flame on each petal is built by ultraviolet exposure — at this altitude the light is strong enough to develop a wide, even edge, while the sharp nighttime cold holds the yellow base bright instead of letting it fade cream. The 45-petal head opens slowly and keeps the two tones distinct for the full display window. Cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of harvest.

Best for

Summer events, citrus-themed palettes, graduation and congratulations work, and sunflower-adjacent designs that need a refined rose in the same color story. The dense head makes 60 cm stems read fuller than the count suggests; reserve 70 cm for pedestal pieces. Round out the warm side of our wholesale rose range.

Pairs beautifully with

  • Orange Crush (orange) to extend the flame tone to a full head
  • Candlelight (soft yellow) for tonal yellow layering
  • Pandora (peach bicolor) to soften the transition
  • Sunflower for scale and a shared color story
  • Green Ball for round green texture against the heat

Care notes

Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative. Store at 34–38°F. The flame edge is set at harvest and will not spread as the head opens — what arrives is the final ratio of yellow to orange. Moderately ethylene-sensitive; standard cooler discipline applies.

What working pros say

"Yellow Flame is my summer counter rose. It does what a sunflower does for mood but holds five days longer, and the orange tips give me a built-in accent color."

— Retail florist, Mountain West (11 yrs experience)

"I spec it against High & Magic by season — Flame for June, Magic for October. Same family, completely different temperature on the table."

— Event floral designer, Mid-Atlantic (15 yrs experience)
