Candlelight
The signature warm cream. Grown in our own production at 3,200 meters altitude in Cayambe, Ecuador.
The old-world cream. Candlelight packs 80 petals into a dense, quartered garden-rose form — the warm glow its name promises, in a buttery cream that sits a shade sunnier than Vendela's cool ivory. Where standard-form whites like Playa Blanca suggest the garden look, Candlelight is the real article: a true garden rose with the cupped, many-layered open face that English-garden design briefs are actually asking for.
The grow story
Grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, high in the Andes. Eighty petals is an enormous metabolic ask, and the high-altitude cycle is what pays for it: cold mountain nights slow development so each layer thickens before the next forms, while the intense equatorial sun keeps the cream luminous instead of letting it dull. A bloom this dense built any faster would shatter in transit. Cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of harvest.

Best for
Garden-style and European-inspired weddings, editorial work, and the focal-flower slot in cream-and-gold palettes. Candlelight is the bloom you place where the camera lands — three stems carry a compote design that would need a dozen standard roses. 50 cm suits low centerpiece work; 60 cm for bouquets. Build the supporting cast from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Vendela (ivory) for the standard-form supporting layer
- Sweetness (cream, blush edge) to hint the palette warmer
- Quicksand (champagne taupe) for antique depth
- Kahala (peach garden rose) for a two-garden-rose focal story
- Eucalyptus Parvifolia for fine-leaf foliage that doesn't crowd the form
Care notes
Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative, then hold at 34–38°F. Give Candlelight three to four days to open fully — the quartered face is the product, so build around its open date, not its delivery date. Support the heavy head in transport sleeves until the build. Moderately ethylene-sensitive.
