A hot, saturated orange with red pressing through the petal edges — the loudest stem in our orange range. Where Nina reads as a steady, even tangerine, Atomic burns toward mandarin-red at the rim and keeps an ember glow at the center, which is why it gets specified by name for designs that need heat rather than warmth.

The grow story

Atomic comes out of our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, at 3,200 meters in the Andes. Hot colors are an altitude story: the equatorial light up here is intense enough to drive pigment hard, while the cold nights slow the bloom so that color builds in layers instead of washing thin. The result is an orange with depth — lowland oranges tend to read flat, like a single coat of paint. Every harvest is cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of leaving the block.

Best for

Fall installs, citrus and sunset palettes, brand activations built around energy, Dia de los Muertos work, and any event where the brief says "bold." The 50-petal head opens dense and holds shape, so Atomic carries a centerpiece without filler doing the heavy lifting. Run 60 cm for most table work; 70 cm earns its place in tall structural pieces. Round out the warm side of the palette from our wholesale rose range.

Care notes

Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative. Store at 34–38°F. Atomic's dense head appreciates an extra day of hydration before install if you want it fully open. Moderately ethylene-sensitive; keep clear of ripening fruit in shared coolers.

What working pros say

"Atomic is my October rose. The color photographs the way clients imagine orange — saturated, no peach drift — and it still reads orange under amber uplighting, which most oranges don't."

— Event floral designer, Southeast (13 yrs experience)

"Fifty petals means it opens slow. I process Atomic on Tuesday for a Saturday install and it lands exactly where I want it, every time."
