Proud
The signature ivory white. Grown at 3,200 meters altitude in Cayambe, Ecuador.
The big white. Proud carries one of the largest heads in our white range on a notably strong, straight stem — where Playa Blanca wins on ruffle and Mondial on spiral discipline, Proud wins on sheer presence. A clean, cool white at a scale that holds its own in tall arrangements where smaller-headed whites visually disappear.
The grow story
Grown at 3,200 meters in our branded rose program in Cayambe, Ecuador, high in the Andes. Scale needs structure: a 50-petal head at this size collapses in transit unless every petal is thick-walled, and thick walls are what the cold Andean nights build. The intense equatorial light keeps the white bright — no green cast, no gray — while the slow high-altitude cycle gives the stem its caliper. Cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of harvest.

Best for
Ceremony structures, arches, and pedestal work where the white has to read from fifty feet — the 70 cm grade with the oversized head is built for exactly that job. Also the efficient choice for large-format sympathy pieces and hotel installs. Designers report meaningfully lower stem counts on big pieces versus standard-headed whites. Scale the design from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Mondial (bright white) for tonal white-on-white with form contrast
- Playa Blanca (creamy white) to add ruffled texture
- Vendela (ivory) to warm the palette's edges
- Hydrangea White for ceremony-scale volume
- Eucalyptus Baby Blue for cool foliage against the white
Care notes
Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative, then 34–38°F storage. The heavy head rides best sleeved — keep bunches supported until the build and avoid stacking. Handle by the stem; whites show fingerprints first. Moderately ethylene-sensitive; standard cooler discipline applies.
What working pros say
"Proud is my arch rose. At thirty feet a standard white vanishes into the structure — Proud still reads as individual blooms, which is what the photos need."
— Installation floral designer, Southern California (14 yrs experience)
"The stem is the underrated part. Straight, thick, no bowing under that big head — I can wire less and build faster on deadline."
— Event florist, New England (10 yrs experience)
