The biggest red in the catalog, named for the right reason. Red Monster pushes the head to 7.5 cm — larger than Freedom — while still packing 72 dense petals into a true crimson red. Olij Rozen breeding tuned for scale without sacrificing the saturation that red roses live or die on. This is the red for stage-set ceremony pieces, hotel pedestals, and any design that needs red to be visible at fifty feet.

The grow story

Grown at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, in the high Andes. Big red heads are a structural problem: a 7.5 cm bloom at 72 petals weighs enough to collapse in transit unless every petal is thick-walled. Cold Andean nights build that wall thickness layer by layer; the intense equatorial sun loads anthocyanin into every one of those layers, edge to center. The slow high-altitude cycle is what makes oversize red work without sagging. Cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of harvest.

Best for

Ceremony arches and chuppahs where red has to carry from the back row, large-format pedestal arrangements, Valentine's premium retail bunches, hotel lobby installations, and editorial work where one rose reads as the design. The 70 cm grade with the oversize head is built specifically for installation work. Anchor the deep palette from our wholesale rose range.

Pairs beautifully with

  • Freedom (signature red) for scale contrast in the same hue
  • Hearts (red garden rose) to add textural variety
  • Red Panther (black-shadowed crimson) to darken the range
  • Hypericum for berry texture between the giant heads
  • Eucalyptus Baby Blue for cool foliage against the warm red

Care notes

Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative, then hold at 34–38°F. Oversize red heads ride best sleeved until the build — keep bunches supported and avoid stacking. Two to three days of conditioning brings the head to full open form. Moderately ethylene-sensitive; standard cooler discipline applies. The 70 cm stems carry the head straight without bowing, but pack them flat in transit only with proper head support.

What working pros say

"Red Monster is my arch rose. At thirty feet a standard red disappears into the structure; Red Monster still reads as individual blooms, which is what the photo gallery needs."

— Installation floral designer, Miami (14 yrs experience)

"Premium Valentine's bunch — twelve Red Monster at 70 cm in a tall vase. Doesn't need anything else. The flowers do the whole job."
