Limonium
The signature deep purple. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
Purple, atomized. Limonium scatters hundreds of tiny lavender-purple blooms across fine, well-branched stems — the misted texture designers reach for when a palette needs purple as atmosphere rather than statement. This is hybrid limonium, the finer-textured cousin of sinuata statice: softer stems, smaller blooms, and an airier read in the vase. Like the best fillers, it routinely outlives the focal flowers around it, holding color for two to three weeks.
The grow story
Sourced from our curated partner growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands. Fillers and foliage may grow at lower altitudes than roses, but the cold-chain integrity and grading standards remain consistent with our own production. Highland-grown limonium branches harder and colors deeper than warm-climate crops — the cool nights set the purple while long equatorial days keep the laterals coming, so each stem arrives fuller than the category standard.

Best for
Lavender and purple wedding palettes that need connective tissue between focal blooms, garden-style designs wanting meadow texture, bud-vase runs where one stem mists a whole vessel, and everlasting programs — limonium dries holding nearly full color. It also bridges color gaps no single rose can cross. Anchor the recipe from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Cool Water (silvery lavender rose) for the tone-on-tone build
- Ocean Song (dusty lavender) in the muted middle layer
- Violet Hill (deep violet) to anchor the dark end
- Blue Hydrangea for blue mass under purple mist
- Lavender Spray Roses for detail at the same register
Care notes
Re-cut at 45° and hydrate in clean water with preservative. Limonium is undemanding — low ethylene sensitivity, strong cooler tolerance at 34–38°F — but ventilation matters: give bunches space so the dense sprays dry between mistings, as trapped humidity browns the inner blooms. Change water every two days to keep stems clean over the long vase life. To dry, hang bunches upside down in a dark, ventilated space; color holds for months.
What working pros say
"Limonium is my purple glue. It connects a lavender rose to a violet rose so the palette reads designed instead of assembled."
— Wedding floral designer, Louisville (10 yrs experience)
"It's the last thing standing in every arrangement. Clients ask why the little purple one is still going strong on day eighteen and the roses are long gone."
— Studio florist, Spokane (13 yrs experience)
