Paloma

A warm cream rose with a faint rose wash feathered along the petal edges — close enough to a neutral to live in a white palette, marked enough to give it movement. Where Vendela is a solid, even ivory, Paloma carries variation inside each head, which is what designers reach for when an all-cream design needs depth without adding a second color.

The grow story

Paloma grows at 3,200 meters in our own production in Cayambe, Ecuador, on the high Andean plateau. Bicolor edging is temperature-written: the anthocyanin blush at the petal margin only develops where nights drop hard, and the cold at altitude paints it on every head with unusual consistency. The strong equatorial light, meanwhile, keeps the cream base from going dull. Warm-climate bicolors arrive patchy; Paloma arrives uniform. Cut, hydrated, graded, and cold-packed within 48 hours of harvest.

Garden-style weddings, cream-and-blush palettes, and any neutral design that risks reading flat in photographs — Paloma's edge variation does the highlight work a stylist would otherwise build with three varieties. Care notes

Re-cut at 45° under running water; first hydration in 95–100°F water with preservative. Store at 34–38°F away from direct cooler light — pale bases show stress early. The edge tone deepens slightly as the head opens; plan palettes around the day-three look. Moderately ethylene-sensitive.
