This is natural blue — developed in the acidic, aluminum-rich volcanic soil of highland farms, not a spray treatment — so the color runs through the floret rather than sitting on its surface. Care notes

Re-cut underwater and split or scrape the bottom inch of stem; hydrangea moves more water than almost anything else in the cooler. Mist heads to keep florets crisp, and revive a flagging head with a 30-second hot-water dip followed by deep cool hydration. Ethylene sensitivity is high — no fruit in the cooler, ever. Store at 34–38°F with low humidity. Blue shades read deeper under warm tungsten light; check against venue lighting before the final build.
