Baby's Breath
The signature ivory white. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
The workhorse filler of the entire industry, and the one most often underestimated. This is Million Star gypsophila — the variety working studios specify by name — carrying hundreds of white micro-blooms per stem on strong, well-branched laterals. Used sparingly it adds air between focal flowers; massed on its own it builds the cloud installations and monochrome centerpieces that have moved baby's breath from supporting cast to headline act over the past decade.
The grow story
Sourced from our curated partner growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands. Fillers and foliage may grow at lower altitudes than roses, but the cold-chain integrity and grading standards remain consistent with our own production. Gypsophila is among the most cold-chain tolerant stems in the catalog — highland-grown crops are cut with roughly half the blooms open, hydrated, and packed the same day, then continue opening for a week after arrival.

Best for
Cloud installations and hanging pieces, massed monochrome centerpieces, flower crowns and halo work, bouquet air between roses, and budget programs that need maximum visual volume per dollar of spend. One bunch fills more cubic space than any other stem we ship. Pair it against focals from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Freedom (signature red) for the classic romance recipe
- Vendela (ivory) in all-white wedding work
- White Spray Roses for a layered white-on-white texture
- White Hydrangea for cloud installs with structural mass
- Silver Dollar Eucalyptus to ground the air with silver-green
Care notes
Re-cut and hydrate in shallow, clean water with preservative — gypsophila blooms open on water quality, and preservative meaningfully increases the open-bloom count. Give bunches room: stems crushed together trap humidity and brown at the center. Low ethylene sensitivity and excellent cooler tolerance at 34–38°F. Blooms continue opening for days after arrival, so order tighter than the look you need. Dries beautifully for everlasting work.
What working pros say
"Million Star or I send it back. The cheap gyp varieties shatter when you wire them — Million Star holds together through a whole crown build."
— Wedding floral designer, Boise (9 yrs experience)
"Clients used to apologize for asking for baby's breath. Now they show me a cloud install from social media and it's the biggest line item on the invoice."
— Event florist, Columbus (12 yrs experience)
