Hydrangea White
The signature ivory white. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
The volume builder of wedding work. One white hydrangea head fills the space of a dozen smaller stems, which is why designers price ceremony installations around it before anything else. This is a natural-white mophead — rounded, densely packed florets with pale green undertones at the guard petals — not a tinted or sprayed product. The color holds clean after cutting instead of drifting cream, so a Tuesday delivery still reads white at a Saturday ceremony.
The grow story
Sourced from our curated network of partner growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands, conditioned to cold-chain standards equivalent to Magnaflor's own rose production at Cayambe. Hydrangeas thrive at the mid-altitude temperatures and consistent daylight these regions provide year-round, producing the head size and color saturation event designers reach for. Heads are cut at full maturity — immature hydrangea wilts fast, so harvest timing is the quality lever — then hydrated and cold-packed the same day.

Best for
Ceremony arches and chuppahs, large urn arrangements, centerpiece bases that get dressed with focal roses, and any white-on-white wedding palette. Premium grade carries installations where each head is seen individually; Select grade works hard in centerpieces where heads nest together. Build the focal layer from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Vendela (ivory rose) for the classic bridal recipe
- Playa Blanca (pure white rose) for a cooler white-on-white
- Mondial (white with green undertone) to echo the guard petals
- Baby's Breath for the airy layer between heads
- Ruscus for deep green framing that makes white read brighter
Care notes
Hydrangea drinks through its head as well as its stem. Re-cut underwater, split or scrape the bottom inch of stem for uptake, and mist heads to keep florets crisp. A flagging head usually revives with a hot-water dip — 30 seconds of stem in nearly boiling water, then deep cool hydration. Ethylene sensitivity is high: keep away from fruit, ripening produce, and dying flowers. Store at 34–38°F with low humidity.
What working pros say
"Hydrangea is my square footage. I quote the arch in heads first, then decide what roses I can afford to layer on top."
— Wedding floral designer, Charleston (14 yrs experience)
"The underwater re-cut is non-negotiable. Teams that skip it blame the flower; teams that do it get two weeks out of white hydrangea."
— Event florist, Chicago (9 yrs experience)
