Lisianthus
The signature ivory white. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
The rose look with a multiplier. Each lisianthus stem branches into several ruffled blooms plus a run of buds that keep opening across the vase life — so a 10-stem bunch behaves more like twenty-five flowers by midweek. The white is soft and slightly warm, with petals so delicate they read as silk in photographs. Designers lean on lisianthus when a recipe needs rose romance at a second scale, or when an arrangement has to keep improving for days after delivery.
The grow story
Grown by our partner specialty growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands, working under cold-chain standards equivalent to Magnaflor's own production at Cayambe. Lisianthus is a slow, exacting crop — months from seed to harvest — and the consistent highland daylight is what builds its long, branched stems and heavy bud count. Partner growers are vetted for color stability and head consistency that match our quality bar; stems are cut with the first one or two blooms open, then hydrated and cold-packed the same day.

Best for
Bridal bouquets where it stretches the garden-rose budget, airy centerpieces that want movement instead of mass, ceremony work viewed up close, and any white palette that needs a second texture beside roses. The sequential bud opening makes it a favorite for multi-day events. Anchor the recipe with focals from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Vendela (ivory rose) for the classic soft-white build
- Playa Blanca (pure white) to cool the register
- White Hydrangea as the volume base underneath
- Ranunculus for dense spiral texture at the same scale
- Limonium for a whisper of purple between whites
Care notes
Re-cut at 45° and hydrate in cool water with preservative; lisianthus is a strong drinker and rewards clean water with days of extra life. Strip foliage below the water line. Petals bruise from handling more than from age — work by the stem and give blooms room in the bucket. Remove spent blooms as buds open behind them; the stem redirects to the next flower. Low ethylene sensitivity. Hold at 34–38°F.
What working pros say
"Lisianthus is the only flower my clients think got better after the wedding. The buds keep opening on their kitchen table for a week and I get the thank-you text on Thursday."
— Wedding floral designer, Raleigh (12 yrs experience)
"When the garden-rose budget runs out, lisianthus is how I keep the ruffle. Half the cost, twice the blooms, and nobody at the table knows the difference."
— Event florist, Sacramento (10 yrs experience)
