Green Ball
The signature garden green. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
Moss you can put on a stem. Green ball is a dianthus bred into a dense, velvety green sphere — a tight pouf of fine fringed petals that reads as living moss and feels like it too. The graphic shape does modern design work no loose filler can: it punctuates, it textures, and massed together it builds the rolling green topography of contemporary tablescapes. Being a carnation cousin underneath, it carries the family's two-to-three-week vase life.
The grow story
Sourced from our curated partner growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands. Fillers and foliage may grow at lower altitudes than roses, but the cold-chain integrity and grading standards remain consistent with our own production. Green ball comes from the same Andean dianthus tradition as our carnations — cool nights pack the petal density that keeps the sphere firm, and steady light holds the green saturated from harvest to teardown.

Best for
Modern and architectural designs, all-green and white-green palettes, boutonnieres with texture and a three-week attention span, kids' table arrangements — the spheres survive curious hands — and massed low runners where the balls build a moss-garden landscape. It is texture as a focal act. Set blooms against it from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Mondial (white, green undertone) for the clean green-white build
- Green Hydrangea for green mass behind the spheres
- Craspedia for a golden dot beside the green one
- Brillantina for glossy sparkle between balls
- Select Carnation to run the family ruffle in full color
Care notes
Carnation rules apply: cut between the stem nodes at 45°, never on the joint, or the stem won't drink. Ethylene sensitivity is high — keep away from fruit and aging flowers, which shrink the pouf days early. Otherwise it is one of the toughest stems in the cooler: hydrate with preservative, hold at 34–38°F, change water weekly, and the sphere stays firm for two weeks or more.
What working pros say
"Green ball is how I do modern without doing cold. The shape is graphic but the texture is soft — clients touch it before they compliment it."
— Event florist, Atlanta (11 yrs experience)
"Best boutonniere stem in the business. Three weeks of vase life means the groom's lapel is the least of its problems."
— Wedding floral designer, Boise (8 yrs experience)
