Ranunculus
The signature blush pink. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
The most petals per square inch in the catalog. Ranunculus packs dozens of paper-thin layers into a bloom the size of a golf ball, opening into tight spirals that photograph like miniature peonies at a fraction of the cost. Designers use it where detail matters most — bridal bouquets, close-up tablescapes, editorial work — because no camera gets close enough to exhaust what this flower is doing. The soft pink register sits warm and rosy, lighter at the outer petals.
The grow story
Grown by our partner specialty growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands, working under cold-chain standards equivalent to Magnaflor's own production at Cayambe. Ranunculus wants exactly what these regions offer — cool nights to build petal count and steady, moderate days to open the spiral evenly. Specialty crops are vetted for color stability and head consistency that match our quality bar, then cut at soft-marshmallow stage, hydrated, and cold-packed the same day.

Best for
Bridal and bridesmaid bouquets where the close-up carries the day, compote centerpieces beside garden roses, flat-lay and editorial shoots, and boutonnieres with more presence than a spray rose. Ranunculus is the detail flower designers add when a recipe looks finished but flat. Pair it against focals from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Quicksand (taupe-blush rose) for the editorial neutral palette
- Sweetness (cream-blush) to stretch the soft register
- Lisianthus for ruffled white texture at the same scale
- Pink Hydrangea as the volume base underneath
- Baby's Breath for air between the dense spirals
Care notes
Stems are hollow and bruise easily — re-cut at 45° with a sharp blade, never crush. First hydration in cool water with preservative; ranunculus drinks fast and droops fast when dry, so check water levels daily. Hold at 34–38°F. Blooms keep opening after cut and nearly double in size; build arrangements with the open diameter in mind, not the bud. Moderately ethylene-sensitive — keep fruit out of the cooler.
What working pros say
"Ranunculus is what I hand the photographer. Roses carry the room, but every detail shot that ends up on the studio feed has ranunculus in it."
— Wedding floral designer, Savannah (9 yrs experience)
"Buy it tighter than feels right. It doubles on you — the bud you almost rejected on Tuesday is the bloom everyone touches on Saturday."
— Event florist, Denver (15 yrs experience)
