Spray Carnation
The signature blush pink. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
The carnation ruffle, multiplied. Each spray carnation stem branches into four to six smaller blooms plus buds, scattering the family's signature fringed petals across an arrangement instead of concentrating them in one head. That branching is the value: a single stem fills the gaps between focal flowers the way three standard carnations would, and the buds keep opening across a two-to-three-week vase life. Nine color options run from clean white through lavender, peach, and bicolor forms.
The grow story
Grown by our partner specialty growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands, working under cold-chain standards equivalent to Magnaflor's own production at Cayambe. Spray carnations come from the same Andean growing tradition as their standard cousins — cool nights for petal substance, equatorial light for year-round consistency — with partner growers vetted for color stability and head consistency that match our quality bar. Stems cut with two blooms showing color arrive with the rest in bud.

Best for
The transition layer of mixed arrangements — between focal roses and filler — bud vases where one branched stem makes a composition, supermarket and subscription bunches built on longevity, and corsage work where the small heads wire cleanly. They do the job spray roses do, at a sturdier price and twice the vase life. Set the focal layer from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Pink Spray Roses for a doubled small-bloom texture
- Sweetness (cream-blush rose) as the focal above
- Select Carnation to run the ruffle at both scales
- Limonium for purple mist between blooms
- Lily Grass for clean line work through the spray
Care notes
Same family, same rule: ethylene sensitivity is high, so keep spray carnations away from fruit, produce boxes, and aging flowers — exposure curls petals inward days ahead of schedule. Re-cut between the stem nodes at 45°, never on the joint, and hydrate with preservative. Remove spent blooms as buds open behind them. Hold at 34–38°F; change water weekly across the long vase life.
What working pros say
"Spray carns are my gap insurance. Every mixed arrangement has holes at the end, and one branched stem fixes three of them."
— Event florist, Pittsburgh (11 yrs experience)
"For grocery programs they're untouchable. Week three and the buds I didn't notice at pack-out are the freshest thing in the vase."
