The longest-lasting bloom in the specialty cooler. Royal chrysanthemums carry large, densely petaled decorative heads — one substantial flower per stem rather than a spray — with the two-to-three-week vase life that has made the chrysanthemum family the backbone of commercial floristry worldwide. The golden yellow form arrives saturated and stays saturated; mums fade by drying gracefully rather than browning, which is why retail programs build weekly recipes around them.

The grow story

Grown by our partner specialty growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands, working under cold-chain standards equivalent to Magnaflor's own production at Cayambe. Chrysanthemums set their bloom by day length, and the equatorial highlands deliver the same twelve-hour photoperiod every week of the year — so head size and timing stay consistent in a way seasonal growing regions cannot match. Partner growers are vetted for color stability and head consistency that match our quality bar.

Best for

Retail and subscription programs where vase life is the product, autumn event work, Día de los Muertos and homecoming traditions where golden mums are the brief, and budget-conscious designs that need a big round head without a garden-rose price. It is the stem that is still presentable when everything else in the arrangement has been composted. Pair it with focals from our wholesale rose range.

Care notes

Chrysanthemums drink hard and foul water fast — re-cut at 45°, use preservative, and change water every two days to reach the full three-week life. Strip all foliage below the water line; mum leaves decay quickly and shorten the bloom's run. Heads are heavy relative to the stem, so support them in transport. Low ethylene sensitivity and excellent cooler tolerance at 34–38°F.

What working pros say
