Ruscus
The signature garden green. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
The most-used green in wedding work, and the distinction matters: this is Israeli ruscus — tall, straight stems lined with broad, glossy, deep-green leaves — not its smaller cousin Italian ruscus, whose fine leaves run on arching, viney stems. Designers spec the two for different jobs: Israeli for coverage, structure, and bouquet greening; Italian for trailing detail. Israeli is the one that hides mechanics, fills the back of an arrangement, and greens a whole arch economically.
The grow story
Sourced from our curated partner growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands. Fillers and foliage may grow at lower altitudes than roses, but the cold-chain integrity and grading standards remain consistent with our own production. The deep leaf gloss that defines good ruscus comes from slow, cool growth — highland-grown stems arrive darker and shinier than warm-climate product, with the leathery substance behind the two-to-three-week vase life.

Best for
Bouquet collars and greening, arch and chuppah coverage, centerpiece structure, vase work where stems show through glass and need to look clean — Israeli ruscus is the green that does the unglamorous jobs in nearly every wedding recipe in America. Its straight line also suits modern work. Layer it under focals from our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Freedom (signature red) in the classic dozen-rose recipe
- Vendela (ivory) for the standard bridal build
- White Hydrangea where deep green makes white glow
- Oriental Lily at pedestal and altar scale
- Silver Dollar Eucalyptus to run glossy beside matte
Care notes
As tough as foliage gets. Re-cut at 45° and keep in clean water; preservative optional. Negligible ethylene sensitivity, full cooler tolerance at 34–38°F, and the leathery leaves shrug off handling that would bruise softer greens. Out of water it holds presentable for hours, which is why installers love it. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth before high-end deliveries — the gloss is the product.
