Hydrangea Green
The signature garden green. Grown by curated partner growers across the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands.
The most color-stable head in the hydrangea category. Green hydrangea is cut at full maturity, when the florets have hardened into their antique green stage — and a mature green head holds its color longer after cutting than white, blue, or pink. That stability is why designers building multi-day installs or week-long retail displays reach for green first. It reads as fresh foliage volume from a distance and as a structured bloom up close, doing two jobs in one stem.
The grow story
Sourced from our curated network of partner growers in the Ecuadorian and Colombian highlands, conditioned to cold-chain standards equivalent to Magnaflor's own rose production at Cayambe. Hydrangeas thrive at the mid-altitude temperatures and consistent daylight these regions provide year-round, producing the head size and color saturation event designers reach for. Green is the maturity color of hydrangea — partner farms hold these heads on the plant past the white stage until the green sets, which is what buys the longer post-cut color life.

Best for
Multi-day event installs where color drift would show, garden-style centerpieces that want green volume with structure, modern all-green and white-green palettes, and retail programs that need a week of shelf life. Mini grade nests into compotes and low centerpieces; Select carries large-scale work. Browse focal options in our wholesale rose range.
Pairs beautifully with
- Mondial (white with green undertone) for the cleanest green-white recipe
- Silantoi (soft yellow-cream) to warm an all-green palette
- Green Ball for tighter green texture beside the loose head
- Lily Grass for sweeping line work over the rounded mass
- Ruscus to deepen the green register underneath
Care notes
Re-cut underwater and split or scrape the bottom inch of stem for uptake. Mature green heads are the most forgiving in the category, but the fundamentals still apply: mist heads, revive flagging stems with a 30-second hot-water dip, and keep fruit out of the cooler — ethylene sensitivity remains high even at this stage. Store at 34–38°F with low humidity.
What working pros say
"Green hydrangea is my insurance policy. Three-day install, no cooler on site — green is the head I trust to look the same on teardown day."
— Event florist, Austin (11 yrs experience)
"Mini green changed my compote game. Full heads swallow a low bowl; minis tuck in next to garden roses like they were bred for it."
— Wedding floral designer, Portland (8 yrs experience)
